Massage has been shown to be one of the most beneficial complimentary oncology treatments for clients with or recovered from cancer. Not only does it address the emotional support that is so essential especially through taxing treatments, but it also has many physical benefits. It has been shown to reduce feelings of anxiety, depression and isolation. It has also been shown to improve sleep. This massage can also help reduce muscle aches and pains, constipation, nausea, headaches. It can help reduce scar tissue, and axillary cording after surgery. Our oncology massage therapist is also a Certified Lymphedema Therapist that can integrate lymphatic treatment in sessions. What do we think is one of the most amazing benefits? Reduction in treatment induced neuropathy... Yes, really!
Have you ever been treated for cancer at a Hartford Healthcare location? Many patients are surprised to learn that the HHC Bountiful Bowl project helps pay for 5 60 minute massages. These can be redeemed at Windham Hospital. Nicole is happy to take clients at either location. At this time, we are not able to offer free oncology massage at ledge brook, but we offer 15% off for all clients who have received oncology massage with us. This discount becomes permanent for you for all of our services. We will also work with you to send out receipts and notes for insurance reimbursement. The journey of cancer often does not end after treatment and remission. We are here to support you through the entire journey.
We encourage you to reach out to Ledgebrook Massage Center with any questions. We are empathic to the overwhelming nature of the road through cancer, treatments and appointments. Nicole is flexible with scheduling and will answer any questions you may have.
